General Disclaimer

Participating in Calculum is risky and holds no promise of financial gain. In extreme cases such as security breach, you could lose all your capital. Please use Calculum vaults responsibility, do your own research, understand the risks, and never deposit more than you can afford to lose. Please only participate in Calculum vaults to the extent allowed by your jurisdiction. Calculum DAO does not guarantee any compensation to users in the event of exploits, hacks, and other unforeseeable negative events.

Smart Contract Risk

All on-chain activity is made possible by interacting with smart contracts (computer code executed on a blockchain). Smart contracts can have bugs which might be exploited by malicious actors, leading to lose of user funds.

External Protocol Risk

Calculum vaults interact with other on-chain applications such as decentralized exchanges (e.g. dYdX) which could themselves be exploited by malicious actors, leading to lose of user funds.

Volatility Risk

Crypto markets are highly volatile and cyclical. Our initial strategies offer a controlled level of risks, but are not designed to be "up only" (as opposed to certain DeFi strategies such as stablecoins lending or automated market-making between stablecoin pairs): volatility is the “price” to pay for higher potential returns. The strategies equity value are expected to fluctuate overtime and experience periods of drawdowns. Past performance does not guarantee future results, but looking at the historical equity curves will give you a sense of what to expect.

We recommend users to stay long enough into the vaults (at least a 3-4 months) to let time for the strategies statistical edge to materialize.

Phishing Scams

The crypto space is full of scammers that might impersonate members of the Calculum DAO and try to extract critical information from you (such as your private key), either via social engineering, or by having you visiting a malicious website or installing a malicious software. Be careful out there, never share your private key with anyone and remember that the Calculum team will never DM you first.
